LOL Swing Top

LOL_01

When I started testing patterns on the beginning of the year I never thought it would become such an addiction! But it is… And so today I bring you my version of another pattern I’ve tested recently. The latest release of Jennuine Design it’s the LOL Swing Top (affiliate link) and I was thrilled to have the opportunity to try it first hand.

LOL_02

It’s such an awesome design and Jennifer and my fellow testers did an amazing job to make sure that every detail on this pattern was perfect!

My favorite thing about this pattern, and one of the things that makes it so unique is the beautiful racerback yoke. It really makes a wonderful swingy top that you’ll love to sew and that every girl would love to wear.

I made a woven version size 5T for Madalena, and I really like how it fits, but since I made this version the pattern has been perfected, so when you make yours it will be even more awesome! 🙂

The pattern has separate instructions for woven and knits, and I can tell you that it just looks as pretty in knits as in wovens. It’s sized from newborn until size 12T so I’ll definitely be making these for a long time.

I used a lightweight cotton from my local fabric shop for it, paired it with some dark blue bias tape and used a pink button to add a little pop of color, matching the little dots of the print. I thought of using pink for the bias but thank god I messed up when I was joining it in a circle. I’m so in love with this toned down version.

I only have good things to say about this pattern. The instructions are clear and it has plenty of illustrations to guide you along the way. I can’t wait to make a knit version and use some ribbing for the first time! Yes I still have so many different things and techniques to try in my sewing adventures… 🙂

Congratulations Jennifer for such a great pattern and thank you so very much for allowing me to test it.

Vamos ver 😉

  5. What a fun little top! I love this toned down version, as you say. I am itching to make one, but I may have to wait a little longer – it is still very cold in my corner of the world!
