Oh BOY oh BOY! Brand new NOSH fabric Alert!
Oh my dear friends I’m so lucky!!! NOSH just launched their autumn fabric collection, and yours truly here had the pleasure and fantastic opportunity to try them first hand… Yep THEY’RE FABULOUS as usual. If you don’t know NOSH Organics yet, let me tell you it’s a super cool Organic Clothing and Fabric brand, with beautiful products that are produced sustainably and ecologically, could we ask for better?
I chose a pack with Tiger jersey in Aqua/ Petrol + Jersey with ministripes in blue + Petrol blue stretch college. The fabrics on the collection are all amazing so this wasn’t an easy pick, but I had a feeling that Madalena would absolutely love the Tigers so I couldn’t let them go. 🙂
I knew what I wanted to make from the beginning; M. had loved the Safari raglan dress I made for F. a few weeks ago, so the Tiger fabric was definitely destined to become one. Using the cute stripes for the sleeves was like an obvious thing to do and I love how it turned out. The dress pattern is from Titchy Threads and its perfection, really great for fall dresses! ( you can get it here)
I sewed the dress, the leggings you see above and the cardigan while staying at my parents house in Alentejo last week, and made the mistake of not printing the neckline pattern piece (there’s no computer/printer or even internet there; well I manage to get a week internet connection if I climb the hill a bit remember? But I made the dress at night and was eager to finish) so I had to try and make it myself… hum that didn’t went perfectly and I’ll be sewing a new neckline with the right measurements soon because this one is big and doesn’t lay flat as it should… I had to take advantage that M. was in the mood for photos while we stayed there though, so the not so perfect neckline had to make an appearance… sorry! 😉
For the leggings I used Jennuine Design (affiliate link) Dressage Leggings. I made the regular version and I’m absolutely happy with the fit (thanks Jen for allowing me to give a try on this great pattern, it’s perfect). Since I was in Alentejo I didn’t have the pattern instructions with me, nor did I read them before going ahem, so I didn’t know I was supposed to cut a waistband piece… (typical me) But to tell the truth I didn’t have trouble finishing them without the waistband and I think the rise is good, so it was all ok. 😀
Both jerseys are really really really good quality, and you can make a ton of different things, I already promised my nephew a Tee in the Tiger one, and still have a tiny piece of the stripes to make probably a skirt for M. (not sure if I’ll be able to pull that off hehhehe). This will be a high rotation autumn outfit I’m sure, Madalena is really happy with it and she lives in dresses and skirts, the “I’m not wearing pants” thing/phase still endures most days, so yeah this is perfect… hehehe
They are incredibly soft and did I mention NOSH fabrics are made with organic cotton?… It’s heaven! SERIOUSLY.
And then the beautiful Petrol blue stretch college. I just had to turn it on to another Petit a Petit Cardigan like the one I made for STYLO. That green/pink striped one (also made with NOSH fabric) has been getting so much use, and M. is really in need of new Cardigans so it was a no brainer. The pattern wasn’t released yet but it’s definitely on Celina’s plans to make it available, so fear not. 😉
This fabric is heavier than the jerseys and has good stretch, I can see sweaters and pants, and hooded dresses made with it… swoon… Now I’ll just have to get more… 😉
I forgot the Kam Snaps I wanted to use when I went to Alentejo, so in these first photos the cardigan doesn’t have them yet. I love the fit, it’s perfect for layering, and the girl looks pretty cool in it (Celina can you please make it in my size? hehehe)
These fabrics are just… what can I say without sounding like a broken record…humm… Fantastic (did I use this adjective already? heheheh)… they’re so soft and the colors are perfection!
So I came home and still had a bit of the Tiger fabric left, enough for another pair of leggings so I just felt compelled to make them. And so I did… 😉
I didn’t quite have enough lengthwise so I added a bit of the striped fabric to the hem, Madalena love these so much! She didn’t want to take them off. 🙂 WIN!!! I used Dressage Leggings pattern again, opted for no waistband and finished them like I had done on the first pair.
As you can see I already added the snaps to the coat, love the final result. I should make one of these in every color! 😉
Hope you like my makings. It’s always a great pleasure to work with NOSH and I couldn’t recommend them more, if you’re looking for super cool perfect quality knit fabric your search is over! 🙂 You can get the new collection fabrics here.
Thanks a million NOSH for giving me the opportunity to try these first hand, it was a pleasure!!
All the fabrics I used for the items in this post were given to me by NOSH, but all the opinions are my own.
